Not only is Anna the name of the pet line here at Castle Baths, but Anna is also the name of a breeder and a cat. Breeder Anna is a woman who shared the same dream as Laura. To produce and show an odd-eye or blue eye bi-color Persian, and then to continue producing them. They met some time in the mid-90's through email and phone contact when Laura was just beginning to enter into the world of purebred Persians. However, it was some time before it was known that the two shared a dream.
In 2003, Jacob was born. He is a brown tabby and white, with something very unique. He had odd eyes. For those that may be unsure of what that is, It simply means one eye is blue and the other is copper. I am sure you are asking what the big deal is because it's been seen before. Jacob was the first odd eye bicolor Persian to grand in CFA. Before this, the only Persians that were noticed as having odd eyes or blue eyes were solid whites. It had not been done with bi-color Persians before.In 2004, Breeder Anna passed away. Her closest friends and family saw the same dream in Laura and decided to pass along a male of Anna's named Mud to her. He was nicknamed Mud because no matter how many times you bathed him, he still managed to get dirty. He would stick his whole face into the food and water bowls.
In 2005, Mud fathered a kitten that would become the first blue eyed bicolor. When the kittens eyes opened and it was noted that they were both blue, It was instantly decided that this little kitten would be named after Anna. She was a beautiful calico that knew she was something special. As she grew into a gorgeous feline, it became apparent that she was the key.
Her first show, she stunned fellow breeders. She made judges stop and take a second look, and sometimes a third into the rule book. Some said that Laura had simply gotten lucky. They even said that it was a once in a lifetime and probably wouldn’t happen again. Others were amazed and came by often to look because they couldn’t believe their eyes.
Little did they know that Laura had a secret. A litter had been born. A little red and white male was a part of the litter and he too, had two blue eyes. His name was registered as Purrinlot Eye Believe, for if we had not believed, this would never have occurred. He was a beautiful cat that would also grow and be the foundation, along with Anna, to a wonderful new thing that was said to be impossible.Anna went on to be famous, and everyone wanted to see her, touch her, and to have her. Laura decided that she would give a little bit of Anna to everyone that wanted her. She designed the pet line with her in mind. Right down to the label. The label on every grooming product Castle Baths has is a picture of one of Anna’s blue eyes. This being said, Anna was the perfect name to the line, and a perfect finish on a fantastic dream.
As Anna and Eye Believe grew and started to breed, they began to start a whole new revolution that would continue to shock cat breeders alike and begin a frenzy.
