Anna's Grooming Powder by Castle Baths
I was sitting in the CB lab this morning finishing up with the bottling process for the grooming powder and I thought, "I haven't blogged in a little while, What should I blog about?" Then it hit me, I can easily take pictures of what I was currently doing and show my readers what I do from day to day. So, That is exactly what I began doing, taking pictures. A few snaps later, I realized that I was having a little too much fun taking pictures and that I could really start doing this. Of course it would be mixed in with the regular postings about skin care, but this could be something fun and interesting.
First, it starts out with the product, bottle, lid and protective wrap. I am not really sure if you can see it, but the protective wrap is laying across the lid.
After I get the proper amount of protective wrap out, I proceed to place them over the bottles as shown in this picture. I do this and place them all on at once so that when I go to the next step, I won't have to do a stop and go process, instead it can be go, go, go.
I then pull out my handy dandy hair dryer and proceed to add heat to the plastic wrap. This causes it to shrink and wrap tightly around the bottle. This way, during shipment, it is less likely that the bottle will open, allowing the product to go everywhere. It also helps keep moisture out, allowing for safer handling.

Photography and logo

This image was actually inspired by a photographer by the name of Alex Koloskov. The left side of the logo, where you see the CB is actually a picture he had taken of a water drop, and as you can see, the splatter actually looks like it is in the shape of a crown! It goes along with our company in two ways. The crown is castle like and the water drop goes along with a bath. It's actually pretty neat when you think of it that way.
On another note, the contest we had on Facebook was a success. We named a winner of the giveaway. So, if you are connected with the fan page on there, go check to see if you are the winner!

Love the skin your in!
Taking care of one’s skin can be simple. It’s as easy as using the right products and taking the extra 5 minutes to use those products right. More times than not, people are stumped with how to properly use a product. This may be the cause of lack of proper instruction on the label or lack of understanding. There is also the whole idea of if this product works for someone else, will it still work for me?
Everyone’s skin is different and requires different things to remain healthy and vibrant. So, how do you really know what works and what doesn’t? The answer is simple. Look for companies that offer free samples of their face products and grab a few of them. Usually there is a small fee that would cover postage, but it’s worth trying before you buy.
Generally speaking, natural and organic products are better for the skin. It helps bring out the best in your skin and gives you the overall feeling of happiness and good health. Castle Baths is a good example of a company that has a strong value system in place with using these types of products. Everything they create is 100% natural, cruelty free, and made with others in mind.

Skin Care
Water has a major effect on how your skin looks and feels. It is used on a daily basis to cleanse the body, both inside and out. We drink water to hydrate our bodies and to flush out our system. We also use it in conjunction with products to clean our skin. So, how does water affect our skin?
Before water has a chance to run through your faucets, it goes through a series of filtering stages. This is a required process by the local government in your area to ensure that water is safe. But be mindful of any chemicals that may be in your water. Although there is a set filtration process, machines aren’t entirely perfect. The best way to find these numbers is to contact the water service department in your town or city.
When bathing, water that is too hot can be damaging to your skin. It draws out the moisture from your skin and causes it to be dry. This can make it itchy and irritated. The best temperature to use is warm water. Not too cold and not too hot.

JaidynsKiss and Purrinlot
Wonder why we believe so highly in cruelty free and animal-free?
JaidynsKiss is actually the name of my newest cat. We call her Jaidyn, pronounced Jay-den. the Kiss actually comes from our national winning cat named Majestic Kiss. Majestic and Jaidyn are siblings, however not from same litter.
Purrinlot Jaidyn's Kiss

NW GC Purrinlot Majestic Kiss

These two Persian Cats are an amazing gift to my home as well as my mother's. Purrinlot has amazing cats pets in their home and teaches wonderful cat grooming on their website. They allow people to read on proper ways of giving a cat bath.
Jaidyn was born the day after valentines day in 2009 and has been a blessing in my heart ever since. She has helped heal my heart after Scarlet passed of kidney failure in August 2008.
CH Purrinlot My Lady Scarlet - as a kitten from our very first litter. She was born in 1997 and may she rest in peace.

Leaping Bunny
Leaping Bunny is an organization that partners with companies to assure that animal testing is not practiced with the products they carry. Companies who strive to be cruelty-free can apply for this partnership with the Leaping Bunny program and once approved, can display the logo on their product labels and websites. We highly recommend joining Leaping Bunny in their efforts to cruelty-free spa products and bath products.
Castle Baths partnered up with the Leaping Bunny program in 2009. Although they didn't join until 2009, They have been cruelty-free with all of their bath and body products since they opened their doors in 2005.

PETA , safe for animals or slaughterhouse?
After countless advertisements against cruelty to animals and criticizing Americans for drinking milk or eating meat, is PETA really an organization that puts animals first? They continually advertise that Americans who hunt, wear leather, and support animal testing are wrong for their lifestyles and beliefs.
Many Americans believe that PETA is an organization that treats the animals it takes in with the utmost care and gives them a second chance at life by finding them adoptive homes. But is this really the case? If you are one of those who believe it is, I advise you to continue reading.
The ironic truth is that PETA kills more than they save. They are the true ones that practice unethical treatment towards animals, not the Americans that they claim are doing it. They have a walk in freezer that stores hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dead cats and dogs that they have put down. This is a temporary home to these poor creatures until they are able to be cremated.
Instead of spending the millions of dollars they receive in donations and other means to care for these animals until they finds homes, they advertise against cruelty, buy huge freezers, and have banquets.
Want some numbers? I am about to give those to you.
In 2009, PETA housed 2,366 pets. Out of the 2,366 living and breathing cats and dogs, 8 were adopted. A mere 8!! What happened to the rest of them? They were put down and stored in the freezer locker waiting to be cremated. This is outrageous. That comes to about 97% that were put down.
An SPCA shelter in Virginia Beach, VA was able to find homes for most of the pets they were caring for, and they have a smaller budget than PETA. So why is PETA killing more than they are giving homes for?
Bottom line? PETA kills animals. Still not believing it? Check out these documents, provided by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in Richmond, VA.
